<DarkoNeko>

hmm, I've been meaning to ask for some time now, but out of curiosity

06:07

<DarkoNeko>

"In case of emergency: call River, +44 7757 329861" <- what country number is that ^^;

06:08

<balasyum>

England?

06:08

<Werdna>

UK

06:10

<DarkoNeko>

okay ^^

<_mary_kate_>

Darkoneko`zzzzzz: fortunately i don't mind, but in general you might want to avoid pasting peoples' phone numbers into irc

08:37

<DArkoNeko>

_mary_kate_ err..

08:37

<DArkoNeko>

my apologies

08:38

<DArkoNeko>

I somehow guessed it was a public number or something, but it's obviously not the case

08:38

<_mary_kate_>

it's not hard to find, but i don't go around advertising it either

08:41

<DArkoNeko>

sorry

08:42

<_mary_kate_>

hmm.. i renrewed the fisheye license and it doesn't start until 25th sept

08:42

<_mary_kate_>

i wonder if that means i can't use it until then

08:43

<DArkoNeko>

or the other isn't finished yet.. .?

10:30

<Duesentrieb>

oh damn! potd was using query.php - i completly forgot about that :/

11:12

<balasyum>

MinuteElectron, are you here?

11:23

<Duesentrieb>

what the....

11:27

<Duesentrieb>

potd fixed

11:32

<MinuteElectron>

balasyum: Yes.

11:33

<balasyum>

I just wanted to ask you to kill the program you ran for me.

11:33

<balasyum>

I didn't think you'll respond so I ghosted it.

11:34

<MinuteElectron>

ok

11:34

<MinuteElectron>

killed

11:34

<MinuteElectron>

may I erase?

11:36

<MinuteElectron>

ok

12:00

<_mary_kate_>

hmm.. solaris 10 update 6 is in beta. includes zfs root ;-)

12:04

<Bryan>

I'll be making a storage server shortly. Is ZFS cool enough to take the effort of installing Solaris?

12:05

<_mary_kate_>

yes

12:05

<_mary_kate_>

unless you want to resize a raid5 volume. it can't do that yet

12:05

<_mary_kate_>

(but you can add another raid5 volume and stripe it)

12:06

<balasyum>

you may erase it, MinuteElectron, if you wish

12:08

<flacus_de_>

who is responsible for the wikipedia dumps ?

12:14

<_mary_kate_>

some mail was queued on hemlock because of a configuration error

12:14

<_mary_kate_>

now it's sent

12:14

<_mary_kate_>

possibly several days' worth

12:19

<CIA-35>

toolserver-l: 03River Tarnell * 10/: [Toolserver-l] mail on hemlock was broken, now it's fixed

12:39

<DaBPunkt>

_mary_kate_: PING!!

12:41

<DaBPunkt>

Stopped postfix on hemlock

12:45

<MinuteElectron>

...

13:45

<DaBPunkt>

postfix runs again

13:48

<Duesentrieb>

_mary_kate_, DaBPunkt: ARRGGG!!! something is creating thousands of support tickets

13:48

<DaBPunkt>

Duesentrieb: allready resolved

13:48

<Duesentrieb>

hm... ok, if you say so :)

13:48

<DaBPunkt>

Now we need a way to delete all these tickes

13:49

<DaBPunkt>

Duesentrieb: see maintaicelog and rivers email to ML

13:50

<Duesentrieb>

but that mail came before i got notified of all those tickets. that's why i thought it wasn't fixed

13:51

<Duesentrieb>

DaBPunkt: i keep getting more notifications

13:52

<DaBPunkt>

my last is SUPPORT-1834. Do you got one after that?

13:52

<Duesentrieb>

13:55

<DaBPunkt>

4871 seems to be the last one

13:55

<Duesentrieb>

i'm at 4868 now

13:55

<Duesentrieb>

so let's hope 4871 *is* the last :)

14:01

<_mary_kate_>

so

<_mary_kate_>

let's configure postfix not to send errors to jira

O_O

18:59

<SQLDb>

wow

19:06

<_mary_kate_>

TheLetterX: you really need to fix whatever's creating those queries

19:06

<TheLetterX>

I have no idea what is creating them

19:06

<_mary_kate_>

well look at the query and think where you wrote it

19:08

<SQLDb>

TheLetterX: grep your home directory for the query?

19:08

<TheLetterX>

Fixed

19:09

<TheLetterX>

I;ve commented it out for now

19:16

<MZMcBride>

MZMcBride growls.

19:17

<MZMcBride>

Was the server restarted?

19:20

<DaBPunkt>

nope

19:21

<Duesentrieb>

TheLetterX: putting a /* comment */ at the start of queries helps yout to know where it comes from.

19:22

<MZMcBride>

DaBPunkt: I got a "ERROR 1053 (08S01) at line 1: Server shutdown in progress"

19:22

<Duesentrieb>

MZMcBride: that is misleading. it really means "i lost the conenction for some reason"

19:22

<DaBPunkt>

MZMcBride: my shells say nothing. Or stable?

19:22

<Duesentrieb>

MZMcBride: if you kill a query, you also get this message.

19:22

<MZMcBride>

Hmm. Yeah, that's very misleading.

19:25

<_mary_kate_>

MZMcBride: i killed your query

19:25

<MZMcBride>

Ahh.

19:25

<_mary_kate_>

because it was running for 12,000 seconds and there's 2 hours of replag

19:25

<MZMcBride>

Any way it can be improved?

19:25

<TheLetterX>

MZMcBride: You borked the wiki!

19:25

<_mary_kate_>

i don't know, i didn't look at it

<TheLetterX>

It went down 5 minutes

19:29

<MZMcBride>

en.wiki is still s1 isn't it?

19:30

<Duesentrieb>

_mary_kate_: modern seems borked to me on mediawiki.org - is it just me?

19:31

<Duesentrieb>

hm, second reload fixed it. maybe bad stuff in some squids.

19:42

<_mary_kate_>

MZMcBride: it's on the same server as s3

19:42

<MZMcBride>

When did it move?

19:43

<_mary_kate_>

never?

19:43

<MZMcBride>

MZMcBride could've sworn en.wiki used to be S1.

19:43

<_mary_kate_>

it is

19:43

<_mary_kate_>

s1 and s3 are on the same server

19:43

<MZMcBride>

Ahh.

19:43

<_mary_kate_>

there are 3 clusters and we only have two servers

it seems like, a lot recently, my connection to the mysql server is cut off mid-script, is that something anyone else has noticed?

21:23

<SQLDb>

I'm looking at the script in the browser, waiting for it to finish, and, I pull SHOW PROCESSLIST; on nightshade, and, there's no query for that script. The script also never seems to finish running

21:24

<SQLDb>

noticing this across a few scripts, especially when > 500 rows are involved
